Getting the Right Histogram in Camera Raw

Camera Raw’s Histogram gives you a readout of the entire image, which is fine in most cases, but if you’re shooting your subject on a black background or a white background (or in snow, or at night), the Histogram reading isn’t going to be much help in determining the exposure for your subject and the most important part (their face). Here’s the trick for getting the proper Histogram – one that actually makes sense.
