Our Courses Are all Broken Down Into Small Lessons Creating Easy Breaks and Stopping Points
lesson 1: Introduction (free course preview)
Join Scott and RC as they outline who this class is for and why exposure is so important.
lesson 2: Avoiding Under and Over Exposure
When a photo is too dark it is considered underexposed, and when a photo is too bright is considered overexposed. Learn why this is a problem and how to get the correct exposure.
lesson 3: Understanding Depth of Field
The aperture setting controls how much of the photo is in focus, which is called the depth of field.
lesson 4: Understanding Your Shutter
lesson 5: ISO
The ISO setting controls how sensitive the sensor is to light. The higher the ISO setting the more sensitive the sensor is to light.
lesson 6: Manual Mode
In manual mode you are in control of setting the shutter speed, aperture, and ISO to get the correct exposure.
lesson 7: Using Exposure Compensation
Aperture priority mode is probably the most popular mode used on DSLRs because it allows you to stay in control of depth of field. You can still influence the exposure setting by using exposure compensation.
lesson 8: Metering Modes
The metering mode you choose will affect how the camera uses the information in the scene to determine the correct exposure.
lesson 9: Conclusion
Scott and RC close out the class with a discussion of where to go next in your path to learning more about photography.
