Mark Rodriguez is a conceptual artist based in Tampa, Florida. Using both photographic and traditional painting techniques, he creates work that blurs the line where reality ends and his own imagination begins. His work is an eclectic merging of dark, humorous, witty-and often times-thought provoking themes and ideas. Most known for his self-portraiture work, he will go to great lengths to achieve the shots in his head. From covering himself in syrup and feathers, to building a full sized electric chair, to jumping backwards off a roof, there is not much he won't do in the name of art. His Photoshop skills have earned him the nickname "Godriguez" which reflects in his tagline "I am not a god, but I play one in Photoshop." His most recent accomplishment was winning the "Best in Show" Guru award at Photoshop World in 2015. Along with his photographic work, he is also an illustration artist, graphic designer and creates animations and character voices for the nonprofit group WhyU.

Join Mia McCormick as she sits down with multi-talented artist Mark Rodriguez, who recently took the Best in Show award at Photoshop World. Marks’s background is in graphic design, and he is a successful animator and illustrator in his day job, but his unique and creative images are what have captured the attention of everyone at KelbyOne. Over the course of an hour Mia and Mark discuss what drives his creativity, how his family gets involved in his art, how important it is to Mark for his images to tell a story, the thought process behind every image, and so much more!
